Frequently Asked Questions

Odyssey is built for guests who want a private, crewed, high-touch week in the Exumas with the right balance of luxury, freedom, and adventure.

All three can be a strong fit. The right answer depends less on category and more on what kind of pace, privacy, and experience your group wants.

Yes, the itinerary will be customized according to your preferences; however, the captain will take weather and sea conditions into account during the charter and make the necessary adjustments when needed.

Yes, for guests who already hold the right certification.

Dining is a major part of the Odyssey experience, with chef-led meals, guest preference planning, and a service standard designed to feel elevated rather than generic.

Yes. Your meals will be based/planned according to the preferences stated on your preference sheet that you wlll complete prior to the charter.

Odyssey is structured around a request-availability model rather than a direct online checkout experience.

Your inquiry is reviewed, availability and fit are assessed, and you are guided into the appropriate next step in the charter process.

• You will receive notification from your broker regarding your follow up payments

• 30-60 days prior to your charter you will receive a preference sheet for each guest to complete.

• Your broker will be available to answer any questions you may have anytime before you board the yacht or introduced to your crew.

• Your crew will reach out to you, once they have received your preference sheet, to introduce themselves and schedule a call to take place 10-14 days prior to the charter. On this call you will discuss the itinerary, dietary preferences, where to embark and disembark, transportation to and from the yacht etc.

The truth is, there really isn’t a bad time to experience the BVI. The BVI has mild temperatures and good sailing conditions suitable throughout the year. The most popular charter season is November through April, when temperatures are comfortable, humidity is lower and the trade winds create wonderful sailing conditions.

December through March is peak season and perfect for guests looking for lively beach bars, restaurants and plenty of activity around the islands. Christmas and New Year are particularly popular, so yachts tend to book well in advance.

April through July can be one of the BVI’s best-kept secrets. The islands are quieter, the water is beautifully warm, and there is generally more yacht availability. It’s a great time for guests who prefer a more relaxed experience.

The Charter Fee includes the hiring of the entire yacht, the services of a fully licensed crew, all meals, standard ship’s bar, fuel, cruising taxes and permits, clearance taxes, mooring fees and all expenses related to running of the yacht and use of on-board leisure and sports equipment.

Charter Fee excludes crew gratuities.; off yacht excursions; marina dockage; airport transfers.

Gratuity is not included. The Caribbean standard is 15-20% of the charter rate depending on the level of service received.

If the charter start date is more than 6 months away; 25% paid on booking, 25% paid 6 months out and 50% paid 60 days out. If the charter starts within 6 months or less: 50% on booking, 50% 60 days out.

It's recommended you bring 2-3 bathing suits so you always have a dry one to change into, a beach cover ups, shorts/skirts/sundresses, 4 or 6 tee or lightweight shirts, comfortable easy-on/easy-off sandals or flip flops, a thin long-sleeved shirt/sweater for the evenings and you're good to go. We suggest a pair of walking shoes in case you decide to hike on one of the islands. To protect against the tropical sun while swimming and snorkeling, UV swim shirts are wonderful.

The islands are very casual so no need for formal wear.

Because they offer a rarer combination of beauty, privacy, shallow-water access, and a quieter version of the Bahamas that suits Odyssey exceptionally well.
